Delta Phi Alpha Newsletter

October 2005

October 28, 2005

Dear Faculty Advisor:

  1. Enclosed, please find the annual request for “Authorization” to include your chapter in the IRS Group Return. I need this form in order to add your chapter to the IRS annual report which is sent from this office to the IRS for you each year. If you do not know your Employee Identification Number (EIN), please contact me via e-mail (reynoldsjf@longwood.edu) and I will send you the number. Please note that the enclosed form asks for an estimate, usually what you anticipate from chapter dues. If you do not send in the form, you may be asked by the IRS to file your chapter’s income tax report on your own.

  1. The annual meeting this year will be held during the convention of the American Council of the Teaching of Foreign Languages (ACTFL) to be held from November 17-20 at the Baltimore Convention Center in Baltimore Harbor. The meeting will be in my room at the Renaissance Harborplace Hotel on Saturday, November 19 at 2pm. The meeting is open to all faculty advisors. If you are interested in attending, please send me an e-mail.

  1. This year is an election year for Delta Phi Alpha. A slate of officers is enclosed. You may also vote by sending me your selections via e-mail (reynoldsjf@longwood.edu). You may nominate other members of Delta Phi Alpha for any office on the ballot by supplying the information at the bottom of the list of candidates. Please note that the ballots must be returned to the National Office at Longwood by Dec. 10, 2005.

If you attend the ACTFL convention, I hope you will be able to come by on Saturday, Nov. 19, for a visit.

Sincerely yours,

John F. Reynolds, Delta Phi Alpha

National Secretary-Treasurer
