2016 Spring / Summer German Study Abroad Scholarship Winners: Laura Kalsow and Alexandra Johnson
Delta Phi Alpha, the national collegiate German honorary society announces two winners of its Spring /Summer German study abroad scholarship competition.

Laura Kalsow is a recipient of the Spring/Summer German Study Abroad Award. Laura is currently working towards a double major in German and International Relations at Luther College, where she transferred specifically to be able to complete an undergraduate German degree. Laura will put this award money towards her participation in the Luther College Münster Semester program this spring. Upon her graduation, Laura is hoping to pursue a graduate degree in an international field such as International Relations or Conflict Resolution. Congratulations, Laura, and have a wonderful semester in Münster!

Alexandra Johnson is a recipient of the Spring/Summer German Study Abroad Award. Alexandra is currently working towards a double major in graphic design and German at Ohio Northern University. She will use the award during her spring semester in Lüneburg. Following graduation, Alexandra intends to find a way to continue integrating both of her passions into her future plans for graduate school. Congratulations, Alexandra, and enjoy your semester in Lüneburg!

“It is an extreme honor to be chosen as a recipient of Delta Phi Alpha’s 2016 German Study Abroad Scholarship. I would especially like to thank the DPA Board of Directors for their consideration and support of my German studies, as well as my professors at Ohio Northern University for their letters of recommendation and constant encouragement in my German interests and all my endeavors. I am incredibly grateful to have the support of the Delta Phi Alpha Society during my time of study in Germany, which I’m sure will yield many of the best experiences of my college years.”
